Your privacy

No accounts for this pilot: You do not need an account to try these games. Pick your first name or a creature to keep your learning history on this device, or play as a guest and your game records are gone when you close the tab, except survey answers still waiting to be sent. We use no cookies of our own.
Playing stays here: Players' names and game records stay in this browser, on this device, and are not sent to us. Only two things are sent, and only if you choose to send them: survey answers, together with how far into the game the player got, and mistake reports.
What is sent: At the end of a game we may ask up to 13 short questions. Answering is up to you. Your answers go to our server only if you answer and press Send. For anyone under 16, we ask a parent or guardian to say yes first. A mistake report goes to our server only if you write one and tap Send. For anyone under 16, we ask a parent or guardian to say yes first.
What we keep: Who answered (an age group, or teacher or parent), which game, how far into it they got (screens played and whether Skip was used), the answers, the date and your answer code. For a mistake report: which game, the name and number of the screen it was sent from, your words and the date.
What we don't keep: Internet addresses or any other game records; we never ask for names or email addresses. No question asks for a name.
How long: We use survey answers for our study and mistake reports to fix lessons. Our server deletes both 12 months after they arrive. Each set of survey answers and each mistake report is also emailed to us. We delete those emails within 12 months. Copies we download for the study are deleted when the study ends; backups are kept up to 30 days.
Internet addresses: We do not keep your internet address with your answers or reports. Like any website, our host sees it to deliver the page and may keep it in its logs.
Deleting answers: After you send answers you see a short answer code. To have those answers deleted, write to emily@keylink.io with your answer code. To have a mistake report deleted, write to emily@keylink.io with the game, the day you sent it and the words you wrote.

How the games are made

An AI writes each game ahead of time. Two separate AI checkers then read the sentences a player sees, and a game goes on this site only when each fact has a source that a checker has read. No AI runs while you play.
