Before-class card

What a teacher reads before class, about two minutes, with nothing to click. In our app, a teacher link's Newton 1 results fill this card by fixed rules; here a made-up class fills it. The teacher does the talking in class.

Example class:

What the teacher reads

What the app read: each child's answers in Newton 1 (made-up class)

✓ right push runs out thinks a moving thing needs a push to keep going – not reached

How the card is chosen

It waits for half the class

Until half the class has reached the last question, the card only says how many have.

The mix-up

The named mix-up most children still have at the last question, with a one-minute move written once for it.

Check in with

Up to three children who still have it, fewest right answers first. The one-minute move covers the rest.

Say it out loud

Up to two children who had the mix-up earlier and got the last question right, the longest-held first.

What is real here

From the game

  • Newton 1's rounds on the floor, in space and back on Earth, and Rafi's question about a puck on smooth ice.
  • Its one named mix-up: a moving thing needs a push to keep going.
  • The teacher's class results already group misses by mix-up.

Not built yet

  • On this site, Newton 1 sends nothing to a teacher; in our app, a named teacher link already reports whether each first answer was right.
  • The class read keeps counts; a teacher link's own results keep the order of answers, so "had it earlier" is known there.
  • The one-minute move has not been through the accuracy gate.

Made up

  • The class, the names and every answer.
